  Who are we ?

Lily, 2002

We are a couple living of the South Shore of Montreal (Quebec, Canada). We love traveling for many years. We love eco-tourism, visits to ancient cities and, of course, relaxation!

We made two of our three big dreams, Peru in 2002 and the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) in 2006. We dream of our next trip, a safari in Africa (Tanzania & Kenya). We will have a photo site of this trip. You can count on us!

We love the animal world and we have a passion for travel!

Normand, 2006

When we travel, we like to do as many excursions as possible, especially those about eco-tourism. We are not the style to « stand still » when we travel. Life is too short!

We love snorkeling for many years. Our favorite places are Jibacoa (Cuba) and Roatan (Honduras). We love these destinations because we can snorkel directly from the beach. No need to take a boat! These destinations are offered with direct flights from Montreal and Toronto. The marine world is so wonderful, but so fragile! We have a photo-album of all our underwater pics.

Our first popular website was cayolargo.net, online since February 2000. We are on the web since 1995, but it is only since 1999 that we develop informative travel sites. Of course, our sites are refined over time, especially since we have translated all pages in English. As we are not expert in this matter, please be kind while browsing through our site. It is quite a task to build a detailed website in both languages!

In 2011, all our websites received over 1.1 million of unique visitors *. It's a hobby that requires a lot of hours in maintenance to ensure that our sites are always up and running. Without counting the development hours, taking pictures and gather information at destination! If you wish to be notified of updates from our destilino.com website, you may subscribe to our mailing list. This list is confidential and has only one purpose: to inform you.

During our trip in December 2009, we finally had the chance to see the wonderful hundred years old Llana tree. It is located in the west sector of the island. This tree is very important for the Afro-Cuban religion named Santaria.

*** ATTENTION *** Especially in Playa Sirena we will find starfishes. These beautiful creatures are alive and die when exposed to air. For respect to marine life, do not take them out of the water. This applies to any other marine species. Remember there are fines of over $ 300 if you get caught in your luggage, corals and other marine species. Be respectful. It will be a shame to see these species disappear.

This is the comeback of pelicans in Cayo Largo, who had left the island since Hurricane Michelle in November 2001. What a pleasure to watch them dive for delicious fishes :o)

A great site to discover:

Cayo Coco is located North in the
« Jardines del Rey ». A little paradise to discover!
