Sol Cayo Largo

This property opened its door in December 2000. It's located on the western side of Playa Lindarena (the Hotels' beach). It's usually considered to be the best and most luxurious hotel in Cayo Largo. Rooms are distributed in two-story bungalows. Although it’s an hotel for everyone, it’s more adult-oriented because it doesn’t have a mini-club.

  History

• This hotel was the first 4-stars in Cayo Largo.
• Less than a year after its opening, hurricane Michelle (Nov. 4, 2001) hits badly and forced the hotel to closed for months.
• Before the construction of the hotel Sol Cayo Largo, the island was known as « La Isla todo incluido » which meant we were allowed to eat and drink at every Restaurants and bars on the island.
• Since hurricane Michelle in 2001, the hotels' beach (« Playa Lindarena ») has changed a lot and is not as stable as before. The beach at the Sol Cayo Largo may sometimes be more narrow, especially in front of the beach restaurant. The more stable section is the Clothing Optional area (west end).
