Excursion - Cayo Iguana

Do not contact us to book this excursion. We are NOT a travel agency or a tour operator, this page is for information purpose only.

Prices (2019, in USD): 15

Frequency (may vary): On request

Duration: 1 hour

Inclusions: Boat transfer.

Program:

  • Departure from the Marina Marlin Cayo Largo (or Playa Sirena) on a boat to reach a nearby islet off the northwest tip of Cayo Largo, called Cayo Iguana. As the name suggest, this rocky island is home to hundreds of iguanas.
  • Free time to take pictures and enjoy a close encounter with these friendly saurians in their natural environment. It's like a mini jurassic park!
  • Back to the marina.

Suggestions on what to wear and bring:
Light clothing, shoe wear suitable for rocky and uneven terrains (tennis shoes or strapped sandals), sunglasses, hat, sunscreen lotion, camera, cash in small denominations for tips.

Notes:
- This tour is offered by the Marina Marlin and doesn't include transfer from/to your hotel.
- Do not bring food from your hotel, especially sweets (cookies, cake, etc.). Iguanas are mainly herbivorous; you will be given some leaves to feed them if you want.
- Be careful if you hand-feed or pet an iguana; even if they seem calm and friendly, they are still wild animals with sharp teeth and claws.
