Welcome to our website dedicated to the small and quiet Cuban island paradise of Cayo Largo! Online since February 2000, cayolargo.net has become the web's most complete source of information about Cayo Largo. We have recently completely redesigned our website into a new format and look. We like to go there at least once a year to get away from it all, to meet our Cuban friends, and of course to update information and photos for our website.
Cayo Largo del Sur, known simply as Cayo largo, is a natural paradise where you can feel a little like Robinson Crusoe on a deserted remote island far away from city life! A almost virgin island for people who like nature and are looking for a non-commercial quiet place away from massive tourism. Cayo Largo is unique in many ways!
There is a real easy-going, down-to-earth and friendly atmosphere in Cayo Largo, this is probably why the destination has also always been known to be gay friendly and one of the rare places in Cuba where you'll find CO beaches to enjoy. Live and let live! That's the spirit! :-)
If you are looking for a party like ambiance, hectic nighlife, shopping malls, fancy restaurants or worse ... a McDonald, you will be very disappointed and SHOULD NOT consider going to Cayo Largo! But, if you are looking for tranquillity, a relaxed atmosphere, an unpretentious comfort, or the search for endless gorgeous virgin beaches... then Cayo Largo might be for you!

Cayo Largo has been voted the most beautiful « Au Natural » beach in the UK Bare Beaches guidebook (June 2004 edition). Cayo Largo has also been awarded no.4 out of 100 preferred destinations and no.2 in the Caribbeans by tourists in 2008, according to tripadvisor.
 Do you remember the cabins of Villa Capricho? Well, the hotel Playa Blanca will install 90 of them in the west sector of the hotel, in the area where Villa Capricho was before its total destruction by Hurricane Michelle November 4th, 2001. These « 5-star cabin » should arrive shortly in Cayo Largo. Installation is planned for 2012. After more than 10 years, the Villa Capricho finally reborn from its ashes, at least in same style!
