| Welcome to our website dedicated to Cayo Largo, Cuba a little corner of paradise!
|
|||
| We felt in love with this tiny Cuban island during our first visit in March 1999. Since then, this love story continues, we returned 14th times. After our second visit at Cayo Largo, we decided to build a website, we took a lot of photos, gathered all the relevant information’s and then we put online our website in February 2000. Unfortunately on November 4th, 2001 a major hurricane (level 4) badly damaged Cayo Largo, hurricane Michelle. Since that day, this tiny island recuperated and the only traces of this hurricane are the lost of Villa Caprichio (well known hotel for its naturist beach) and Villa Iguana. This one had been converted to a disco (karaoke) and a bowling alley. We would like to be able to go there at least once a year to really get away from it all! Cayo Largo is a natural paradise where you feel a little bit like Robinson Crusoe, really away from city life! A virgin island for people who like natures and the wildlife and are looking for a non-commercial QUIET place. There is an easy-going atmosphere at Cayo Largo, this is why this destination has been known to be « gay friendly » since its debuts. Live and let live! That's the spirit! :o) |

If you are looking for a party like ambiance, a hectic nighlife, shopping malls, big restaurants or a McDonald, you will be very disappointed! But, if you are looking for tranquillity, a relaxed atmosphere, an unpretentious comfort, the opportunity to practice naturism, and endless gorgeous virgin beaches... then Cayo Largo might be for you! Cayo Largo has been voted the most beautiful naturist beach in the new UK Bare Beaches guidebook (June 2004). |
| Before our first visit I was searching the web for some information on Cayo Largo, but we were very surprised to find out that the information available was very limited. We hope you will find our website interesting and useful, and above all will make you want to discover Cayo Largo or return back. Please click the icons at the top of the page to access the various sections of information of this site. We also invite you to read and/or participate in the discussion forum, the link is located at the bottom of the main pages and to see even more photos, visits the Photo Albums section. |

| Lily and I are the owners of cayolargo.net domain name (and many others, see things to know section) since 1999 BUT we are not the owner of the place! Cayo Largo is owned by the Cuban government. Contracts of administration are sometimes allocated to foreign hotel chains like Meliá, Barceló, etc. |
